note: Prior to becoming a full fledged Pipe Band, leaders were named Pipe Major if he was a piper and Section Leader if he was not from the Pipe corps. Since becoming a full fledged registered Pipe Band, leaders were named Band Sergeant Majors respectively while the title Pipe Major is still reserved for the leader of the Pipe corps.
