Why Join?
1. Learn a totally new skill. Why do the same thing that you did in primary school? Pick up something completely different - that's the purpose of education, isn't it?
2. Compared to most other CCAs, it's not a heavy CCA. Practice sessions are once a week for the first 6 months and then twice a week. Students have the necessary time to cope with their studies, homework and so on.
3. Guaranteed Grade A (Distinction) for CCA points at the end of 4 years. (If attendance is above 75% each year). Your part is to be regular at practices. So far, the our track record in CCA points are 100% Distinctions since 2003!
4. Be part of a very close, friendly and life-long network of pipers and drummers. Old boys from 10 years ago still come for practices with the current batch of pipebandsmen! So lots of friendly big-brother mentors.
5. Annual competitions, like the Southeast Asian Pipe Band Championships. Most CCA's only offer one competition per 2 years. This means that you will have twice as much chance of hitting gold and getting strong LEAPS points.
6. You don’t need any experience! None of our boys had played the pipes or drums before joining, but we produce medalists every year.
7. All will hit the rank of Sergeant in Sec 4. All will be leaders.
AND
8. It's very impressive especially when you're filling in University application forms especially overseas Universities such as Oxford and Cambridge.
